Lib Dem's Calum Miller calls for measures to support the Palestinians including in West Bank, and for rejoining the EU Single Market and Customs Union

Stronger Action Needed to Support Palestine
Lib Dem Calum Miller, MP, says: "Starmer’s Government was right to officially recognise the state of Palestine; something we called for for nearly a decade. But today, one of the biggest threats to the two-state solution is the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
As the level of violence rises in advance of elections in Israel and Palestine, we’re calling for the Government to ban all trade in goods and services with the illegal settlements, and to support the Palestinian Authority to deliver free and fair elections later this year."
Stronger Action Needed to boost trade with Europe
Calum Miller also said: "Andy Burnham should drop Labour’s red lines and tear down the barriers burying British businesses in red tape.
That means working towards joining the Single Market and a Customs Union to boost growth, and signing a UK-EU defence pact to coordinate better our rearmament and collective security.
I’ve also urged the Government to lobby EU leaders to suspend the malfunctioning Entry-Exit system for the summer, so that holidaymakers can be protected against travel chaos."
