Cippenham needs councillors who listen more to local residents
Slough Liberal Democrats' team of candidates for the elections to Slough Borough Council in May 2016 includes a former councillor and others with a record of working in their communities.
Robert Plimmer has started conducting a survey in Cippenham Meadows to find out what local residents think about the way Slough is being run. The early results from the first streets surveyed show big support for Robert Plimmer's campaigns against the mistakes of the Labour Council on issues such as not listening to local residents on traffic schemes and massively increasing charges for sports pitches.
Robert Plimmer, Liberal Democrat campaigner in Cippenham, says "I'm pleased the new Lib Dem leader Tim Farron, is so strongly opposing the Conservatives' housing plans that will do so much damage in Slough and elsewhere. There is a national housing crisis, but it is particularly bad in places such as Slough where the policies of the local Labour Party over many decades have made the problem even worse.
"I've identified an appalling 50% drop in the use of Slough Council's cricket and football pitches. This is truly shocking. Slough's Labour-run Council have caused this crisis, and I'm leading the call for action to address it" said Robert Plimmer, Lib Dem campaigner in Cippenham and former councillor for Foxborough Ward:
